The Sacrament of

First Holy Communion

Before preparing for the Sacrament of Holy Communion, children must first have a foundational understanding of who God is and what He asks of His Church. Therefore, children preparing for Holy Communion are to complete one full year of religious education just prior to entering Sacramental Preparation.

Our Archdiocesan primary schools follow the “This is Our Faith” RE Programme which helps our children learn more about Jesus.

For families with children at other schools, we offer help and support in sacramental preparation through our Parish Catechetics Team.

Preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion will begin in P4 and will culminate with celebration of this sacrament next spring. (See LITURGICAL RITES for Christian Initiation for Children)

For adult sacramental preparation, please see the Becoming Catholic Section (RCIA).

The obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains dispensed until further notice. ******* OCTOBER DEVOTIONS, ROSARY AND LITANY - There is a plenary indulgence for recitation of these in Church, family or pious association.
