Life in Kapanga Congo RDC - ELKAP Project run by SOFIA

SOFIA Salvatorian Office for International Aid promotes development aid projects in the south of the world and builds awareness of developing countries in the west. Education and health are our core interests, to contribute to reaching the UN Millennium Development Goals. Our values include respect for local cultures, efficiency, transparency and continuity. Almost all our project managers are indigenous to the country where they live and work. They spend their lives with the poor, often in remote places. The donations we receive go entirely to their activities and are not being used for overhead. Systematic reporting explains what exactly happens with the funds. Find out what you can do to help. Salvatorian work around the world

The Society of the Divine Savior, popularly known as the Salvatorians, is an international, religious, congregation of priests and brothers in the Catholic Church, founded in Rome, December 8, 1881, by the Father Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan.

Today members of the Society are engaged in apostolic activities in 40 countries all over the world. We are part of a Salvatorian Family that includes religious sisters (Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Savior) and laity (International Community of the Divine Savior).

SOLEMNITY OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY - WEDNESDAY 15TH AUGUST - HOLYDAY OF OBLIGATION ***** Masses will be celebrated as follows:*** Vigil Mass: - 7:00pm at Sacred Heart*** Morning Mass: - 9:30am at St Margaret’s*** Day Mass: - 11:00am at Sacred Heart

Jesus taught us to pray for vocations. He said, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest,” (Matthew 9:37-38).

Please pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. May our Lord Jesus Christ continue to inspire many dedicated Christians to imitate Him by offering the gift of themselves in loving service to God in the Church as priests, religious and lay volunteers.

Soon it will be a hundred years since Father Francis Jordan returned to the Heavenly Father. It is therefore a long time that he left the world of humans and of the Society he founded with a goal in the heart of the Universal Church: to make known and loved the only true God and the One he sent, His Son, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. From a distance of a hundred years, there is no doubt that this goal and this spirit are still up-to-date within the Church and the world of today, and should be kept alive.

There is no obligation to attend Sunday Mass at this time. For your own safety and the safety of your loved ones, you should minimize contact with other people, also in the church. Therefore I encourage everyone to STAY AT HOME!!!
